05/29/2025

AUSTIN, Texas – May 29, 2025 – The Hanger Foundation has awarded its 2025 Empowerment Grants, giving a total of $280,000 to 35 non-profit organizations. Grant recipients include local and national organizations serving a variety of communities, including repeat and new award recipients.

Congratulations to the 2025 Hanger Foundation Empowerment Grant Recipients:

“The Combat Wounded Veteran Challenge (CWVC) is personally important to me, as an organization instilling confidence and pride in veterans, empowering them to reach their full potential,” said Michael McCauley, a Hanger Foundation General Board member and CWVC Senior Research Volunteer. “Additionally, they set themselves apart by integrating orthotic and prosthetic research into their expeditions. The generous grant from the Hanger Foundation provides crucial support, amplifying the transformative impact on not only these veterans but the entire O&P field. As I enter my 13th year with this incredible organization, I am still in awe of their mission and the camaraderie that I see flourishing among everyone that participates in these life-changing events.”

The mission of the Hanger Foundation is to empower people with physical challenges to live life as fully as possible. Since its first grant award to Angel City Games in May 2015, the Foundation has donated over $4.7 million to 135 non-profit organizations.
